This is a topic that you wouldn’t normally see on the blog, but we couldn’t pass on this one. We can see it being helpful to some of our lauv readers, particularly to those that believe in the law of attraction. Manifesting is also a way to improve your relationship with yourself.
Now, if done correctly, manifestation can help you reach your goals. With your powerful thoughts, the universe can help you achieve your desires. You can earn more money, grab that dream job, and pass that difficult exam– you just need to shift your energy onto it.
Emphasis on the word “correctly” as manifesting isn’t as easy as 1-2-3. If it’s that easy then we’re probably all millionaires right now. You can’t just think of dating your crush for twenty times and expect them to land on your lap. You need to consider a lot of things and try various manifestation methods to make it work– you also need to be consistent with it.
But before we discuss the manifestation techniques, as well the things you need to do when starting out, let’s have a quick refresher on what manifesting is all about.
What is Manifesting?
Manifestation or manifesting is the process of bringing something into your reality. You’re making something happen by putting it in your mind constantly. It’s inspired by various philosophical traditions: Hinduism, Hermeticism, New England Transcendentalism, and specific verses of the Bible.
This might sound some hocus-pocus to some, and it’s understandable. But several testimonies are stating how this practice has worked for them. Some got their dream jobs. Others ended up in loving relationships.
Now, this doesn’t imply that manifesting is the cure for cancer, a matchmaker, or some magic powers– it only goes to show how powerful our mind can be and that it’s possible to attract our desires through it.
How to Start Manifesting
Interested in changing your life and making things happen? Welcome aboard! This might not be an easy ride, but once you’ve diligently practiced manifestation in your daily life, positive changes are going to happen in the future. Here are some of the first steps you need to take.
1Believe in the power of manifestation.
Before you do any manifesting methods, you need to believe in the power of your thoughts first. You can just put up a vision board and say “Whatever this might work for me…”
Along with believing in this practice, you also need to believe in yourself. You must see yourself as someone capable to achieve that goal. Because by doing so, you’ll be able to work towards those desires and achieve those things as soon as possible.
For example, let’s say you wanted an adventurous partner. Now, if you don’t believe in yourself, you might end up slipping the opportunity away. You may be doing the manifesting methods– but you’re always half-assed about it. You might be thinking “Oh I want a partner that I can go on travels with. But I’m not that fit enough or adventurous enough for that kind of person. Imma just watch shows on Netflix instead of exercising or checking travel groups.”
So when the universe is already helping you get that goal– your coworker invited you to a hiking session– you might end up not being ready to grab that opportunity because you’re not ready. That’s why it’s essential to believe in yourself. That’s the only way you can reap the benefits of this practice.
2Have clear goals in mind.
Take some time for this one. Remove distractions as much as possible. Then think thoroughly about the goals you want to manifest.
Do you want a new car? A new job? A relationship? Get accepted to your dream university? Start an online business? Fix your ruined relationship with a family member? Write these down and be specific with it as much as you could.
For example, if you want a new car, put on the model that you want. If you want an online business, what would be the concept and the products under it.

Take note though, make sure that your goals are realistic enough and align with your strengths. Another thing to consider is if it would be good for you and others as well. Imagine yourself having your goal– would it feel right? Would you hurt some people along the way to achieve this? Those are some of the things you should consider before listing those goals.
3Take note of the manifestation blocks.
Along with your desires, you also need to list down the manifesting blocks that are looming in your mind all the time. Do you have toxic acquaintances or family members that put down your dreams? Were you raised in a difficult environment? Do you have negative beliefs that stop you from chasing the things that you want?
Now, all these negative things can’t just go away magically, but it’s important to list them too. Obstacles are part of the manifestation process. There will be days that you would want to quit. But putting these negative thoughts can bring some perspective on those hard times. You can simply look at your action plan and affirm yourself that you’ll get through those negative blocks. You can then focus more on your goals.
4Create a plan.
You already have those clear goals? Good. Now, you need to create an action plan for it. You need to visualize it as much as possible– write further details, add some photos, etc. Along with the visualization of goals, you also need to list down the manifesting techniques that you want to incorporate on this. 5Work towards your goals.
Manifesting isn’t sitting down all the time and hoping that your dreams will come true magically. You have to work for it. You need to help the universe to make it happen.
For example, if you want a partner that loves traveling, you’ve got to be a travel junkie yourself. If you want a fitter body in the next 2 years, you need to have a balanced diet and regular exercise sessions.
6Trust the process!
Again, manifesting isn’t easy-peasy. There will be hard days. There will be days that you wouldn’t believe in yourself. You may also stumble upon challenges in life that can shake your faith. But again, this is part of the process. Just move along and keep those manifestations strong.
You also need to be consistent with it. It’s important to make manifesting a part of your daily life. It’s not a one-time-big-time thing. You need to slowly build that attraction and prepare yourself. So when the opportunities come knocking on the door, you’re ready to take it.

1Vision Board Technique
This is one of the basic manifesting techniques that we highly suggest to try. For this one, you simply need to have a board to put your visualizations. It can be an online board or just get yourself a corkboard and place it on the wall. Make sure to find a spot in your room on which you can see the vision board daily.
After that, put out some photos, quotes, and any other types of visuals on that dream board that is related to the things that you want to manifest. For example, you want to travel the world– put out the photos of the countries that you want to visit. You can also put faux plane tickets and airport photos.
Now, there are two manifesting practices under this technique.
First, there’s the Intention Journaling. For this one, you need to have an intention journal on which you will write down the things you intend to do within the day, week, or month. If possible, you might want to do this method every new moon as it’s ideal to plant seeds of intent.
Next is the Gratitude Journal. For this technique, it’s pretty self-explanatory. You list down all the things that you’re thankful for. It’s best to do it daily, specifically every night before you sleep. By appreciating the things that you already have, the universe will likely provide you with additional blessings.
3Belief Assessment Technique
Our mind contains a web of subconscious beliefs that directly affects our lives. We might not realize, but our negative subconscious beliefs are the ones hindering us from getting to our goals.
Let’s go back to the example earlier. Let’s say you want to date someone that loves adventure. Now, opportunities are probably there but because there’s a contradicting belief that you’re not fit enough or insta-good enough for this adventurous person, you might be hindering yourself from getting to your ideal partner.
That’s why it’s important to continuously list down the subconscious beliefs that are stopping you from reaching your goals. If you feel like that your subconscious stops you from working towards your goal. Pause and assess those negative beliefs. Once you’ve laid down those thoughts, put on positive affirmations related to those negative beliefs. This will help you shift your focus to your goals and let go of the negatives.
4Letters from Future Technique
For this manifesting method, you only need a pen, paper, and an envelope. Reflect on your current goals and put them down on this letter. If possible, be specific with it. Write those things as if it already has happened. Be grateful for it as well. By doing this, you’re sending more positive energy to the universe. This will also make you more motivated to achieve your goals.
You’re absorbing the energy around you. So if you’re with toxic people, you may experience some difficulty in achieving your goals. That’s why it’s important to be with people who are working with the same goals as you are or with people that can support you on it.
This doesn’t necessarily mean cutting off everyone in your life that doesn’t align with your vibe, but just be careful of who you hang around with.
6Positive Affirmations Technique
This is one of the simplest manifesting techniques, so for the beginners of this practice, we highly suggest this one.
Positive affirmations are an effective way to block the negative beliefs in your subconscious mind. Now it’s up to you how many affirmations you would want to share every day. What’s important is that you’re consistent with it. Now, list down these affirmations and whisper it every morning, preferably in front of a mirror during meditation. Here are some examples of positive affirmations:
- “I am superior to negative thoughts and actions.”
- “I possess the qualities needed to be successful.”
- “My life will be filled with happiness and love.”
- “I am attracting joy into my life.”
Most people often overlooked this manifesting technique, but talking to the universe is an effective way of attracting our desires in life. It’s up to you if you want to talk to your God or your higher self. As long as you’re opening your mind and heart as you talk to the universe, it will still work. Don’t also forget to do this practice every day.
8Acting Out Technique
Sometimes, all you need is to “Fake it till you make it.” With this manifestation method, you’re acting as if your goals are already achieved.
Let’s say your goal is to have a new house. Now, what would you do if you moved to a new home? You decorate with stunning accessories. You take care of it and ensure that it’s being clean every now and then. Now, do that to your current apartment– yes, you want to upgrade from this place, but by showing love and care for it the way you would do to a bigger home, you’re showing the universe the appreciation for your current place. Hence, you’ll have bigger blessings and opportunities that will help you reach that goal quickly.
Manifesting is a great practice to help you succeed in life. However, keep in mind that you can’t rely on thoughts alone. You need to work and make your visions a reality. In that way, when opportunities from the universe come knocking, you’re ready to take those opportunities and achieve your dreams.
