Made from medical-grade silicone, it’s an eco-friendly and cost-effective alternative to disposable sanitary pads and tampons. It’s designed with a classic shape and firm yet soft material, making it a great period cup for beginners and those with a low-hanging cervix.
But what makes this period cup a standout is its durability— it can last up to 10 years! It also has safety clearances from US-FDA, SGS, and SVHC tests and an ISO 13845 certification. Each set comes with 1 menstrual cup, 1 breathable pouch, and a QR code for instructions.
Got your own Mirko Cup – Pink Large? Great! Keep in mind that perfecting the insertion and removal of a menstrual cup may take a few practices. But as long as you’re diligently following instructions, you’ll get the hang of it in no time. Here are the steps on how to use this period product.
Position: After making sure your hands and your cup are clean, get comfortable. The most popular positions are squatting and sitting with your legs spread open. We recommend doing this on the toilet or in the shower.
Fold: There are a number of folds you can try, with the most popular ones being the c-fold and punch-down fold. You may also check this article for more guides about the folds and the insertion process.
Insert: With your free hand, part your labia lips. While your cup is folded, insert its rim first into your vagina at around a 45-degree angle and aim it towards the base of your spine. Slowly push your cup in until you can no longer see the end of the stem or you reach an end – then release.
Securing: Trace your finger around the base of the cup to check if it’s fully open. If you feel any dents or folds, gently grip the base of the cup and slowly rotate it to help it unfold.
Wear: Use your cup for a maximum of 10-12 hours at a time. If you experience a heavier flow, you may have to empty it more than twice a day. Mirko’s small menstrual cup can generally hold 4x the capacity of your regular tampon or pad.
Removal: Reach for the base and pinch. Once pinched, the cup’s suction seal should break inside your vaginal canal. Fold the cup to a smaller size and slowly pull it out.
After removal, use only mild, unscented oil-free soap or water to clean your cup. We recommend giving it a quick wash every time you remove it and before reinsertion. Once you’re done with the cycle, clean it and keep it in a breathable container that is easily accessible for your next use.
