New to tampons? We’re here to help you out. Start with unwrapping one tampon with your clean hands. Get into a comfortable position to easily insert the tampon into your vagina. Hold the base of the tampon, then gently push it inside. Use the middle finger to do this step and keep pushing until the only visible part is the string. Keep it hanging. Once it’s inside, you can continue with your daily routine. You can safely use this product while swimming.
You should change your tampon 3-5 times daily; never keep it for more than 6 hours, or you’ll be at risk for Toxic Shock Syndrome (TSS), a rare but potentially fatal illness. To check if the tampon is full, pull the string. If you can feel it slowly sliding down with every pull, then it’s time to change your tampon.
To remove the filled tampon, get into a comfortable position and gently pull the string diagonally downwards. The tampon should smoothly slide out. Having difficulty finding the string? Get into a squatting position and locate it with your fingers. Wrap the tampon with its packaging or tissue paper, then throw it in the bin.
